Tryotel Travels

Business Analyst & Product Manager (de facto)

The problem

Saimon Global's travel arm — combining a visa processing operation and a travel agency — needed a unified online platform. The brand challenge was unusual: two historically separate service categories, one product surface.

What I did

Consulted directly with the chairman. Facilitated the recruitment of the tech team. Served as de-facto product manager through the build. Defined the information architecture that let flights, hotels, holiday packages, and visa services live on a single platform without collapsing into each other.

Outcome

A unified online travel agency covering flights, hotels, holidays, and visas — a product surface that most OTAs in the region don't attempt.

Tryotel Travels was Saimon Global’s attempt to bring a mature visa-processing business and a travel agency onto one online surface. On paper that sounds like a merge. In practice it was a harder question: what does a user actually want when they can’t separate the trip from the paperwork that makes the trip possible?

The consulting work moved between strategy and execution — sitting with the chairman on direction, then sitting with engineers on build decisions. Most of what shipped came out of the basic observation that visa services and travel bookings are the same journey to the user, even if they’ve always been different industries to the business.
